Relaxing in Railay

Firstly, sorry that I haven't put up any photos yet, but am relying on internet cafes at the moment...will get on it next week hopefully...

It is a rainy and cloudy day here in Ton Sai beach near Railay in southern Thailand, so a chance to reflect and catch up on some internet time.

When I first arrived in Phuket the other week, I was a little disappointed both with the fact that the rain was still hanging about and with the fact that the sea didn't look anything like as gorgeous as it was made out to be in the guidebooks. But then I went up to Khao Lak and joined a 3 night, 3 day liveaboard diving trip to the Similan islands and it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! :)

The sea was really clear, the diving great fun, loads of fish, saw a leopard shark, the people were lovely, the food on board yummy and the islands spectacular - lots of diving, swimming, snorkelling...
Was back in Khao Lak for the festival on the 21st with lights and full moon and things.

Then onto Phang-Nga to see James Bond island and a fishing village on stilts on Ko Panyi which made the boat trip...
Onto Krabi and a sea kayaking trip amongst mangroves and island lagoons and now in Railay and Ton Sai beach with jungle accommodation, beaches, rock climbing, and kayaking.

It is lovely here and people are very chilled and friendly. I have done one day of rock climbing and also went kayaking yesterday with another woman I met here. Tomorrow I am thinking of doing some more rock climbing: I want to get over the fear!

Having lots of time to reflect too but as I am racking up the bill here I will share more on that another time.

Am feeling peaceful, yet expectant and also a bit melancolic for family and friends who I miss and feel I should be supporting more than I am.

Sending out a bit of winter warmth to you all!
