I had a fab day kayaking, although I was actually much more scared than I thought I would be! I did manage to not capsize on the last rapid so big sense of achievement!
Stayed in the bar at the backpackers that night and had a good time with the friends that I had made there. My last day in Uganda was spent with those friends chilling by the river and having a bit of a swim and then to Kampala for the evening. Went with one of the guys I had met and we finally got to the backpackers very late having thought that food on the way even though it was raining and we didn't know where the backpackers were was a great idea(!) Anyway, after coffee and kalua and being taught a bit how to play pool (having not had a mis-spent youth!) things were all better. Didn't really sleep that night though, but did manage to call the taxi guy who had picked me from the airport when I first got there and I had a very luxurious and safe trip to the airport to get my flight. And thankfully very quick as they had brought the flight forward by an hour and I didn't know.
Had a relaxing weekend in Juba catching up with a few people and not really doing a whole lot and have been in a management meeting so far this week. SO much to do at work this week, but it is good to be getting back into it and trying to think about setting new objectives for this quarter before going on holiday at Christmas. Am going to Aweil East on Monday for a couple of weeks and will be in and out of "the field" until Christmas and also get a visit to our programme in Liberia - should be great, not least 'cos our base is right on the beach!!! ;)
Better get on with my presentation for tomorrow now! Catch y'all later! Be safe!
